The question, "is my target audience on social media sites" is a good one -- but many newer companies and smaller businesses haven't any idea whether their market is using social media or, if they are, which type of social media they are using.

What are some tools you'd recommend for figuring out if a certain market IS using social media, and if so, which social media sites they are using?

I would add;

5a. Choose a marketing platform that can aggregate and repurpose social media content or 'Internet Buzz', combining it with traditional internal marketing materials for maximum market penetration and effectiveness.

6a. Use real analytics to gather true metrics on social and traditional internal market materials. Determine marketing campaign (i.e., geoIP, time based, etc.) success and make real-time adjustments to campaigns as metrics suggest.
